Which tool do I need?

A form limits the file size

Use the image compressor. It reduces a JPG, PNG or WebP until it is just under your limit, and shows the quality and dimensions it ended up with so you can judge the trade-off.

An application wants a photo size

Use the photo size tool. It crops to exact millimetres and pixels, and each document page shows what the issuer says and whether we checked it on the official page.

You are stuck on a Wordle

Enter your green, yellow and gray letters into the Wordle helper, or search by pattern with the word finder.

You are curious about your face shape

Try the face shape detector, which works from a photo or four measurements and suggests hairstyles and glasses.

Why browser-based tools?

Most online image tools upload your picture to a server, process it there and send it back. That is slow on a weak connection and it means a copy of your photo, which may be an ID document or a face, sits on someone else's computer. The tools here do the work inside your browser tab instead. You can check this yourself: load a tool page, switch off your internet connection, and the tool still works.

Working in the browser also makes the tools fast, because nothing has to travel over the network, and it keeps them free to run: there are no accounts, no queues and no file storage to pay for.

How we handle accuracy

Photo size and file-size limits change, and different offices have different rules. For every document page we show the size, a link to the official source, the date we last reviewed it, and a badge that says whether we read the numbers from the issuer's own page, only some of them, or could not reach it. We also say plainly when a resizer cannot meet an issuer's rules, such as when photos must be printed professionally.

The face shape result is an estimate from simple proportions, and the Wordle helper uses a general word list rather than the official answer list. Each tool page explains its limits.

How it works

  1. Pick a tool. Each page explains what it does and what to check before you submit.
  2. Choose your file. It opens inside your browser tab; nothing is sent to a server.
  3. Download the result. Check it before you upload it to a form or portal.
